Domaine des Fenals

Mas ( traditional Languedocian farmhouse ) surrounded by 15 ha of grapevine, "Le Domaine des Fenals" bears proudly its 600 years of existence.

It was then burnt in 1789 by the revolutionaries (people who, obviously, didn't have the same point of view concerning the quality of its wine...) and the former castle became the only "Mas Languedocien" of the 19th century, ideally located in the plain scattered of beautiful lakes, separating the Mediterranean sea from the Massif (hilly region) des Corbières...

Fortified house from 1389 until 1589, it became a castle of the family of Aragon and was later supervised, under the reign of Louis XV, by Voltaire's nephew, who made its " liqueur du Cap de Salses " popular at the king's court (Voltaire 1770 ) .
